In the run-up to the media conference of the Swiss Parks Network on May 19 in Berne the association president Jean-Michel Cina was delighted with the development of the “Parkland of Switzerland” The number and quality of the park projects have surprised everyone. In the whole country people have become enthusiastic about the idea of parks. In the two years 2008 and 2009 in all 18 applications were submitted to the Federal Office for the Environment for the establishment of parks.
I parchi nazionali, naturali e peri-urbani rappresentano i paesaggi naturali e i paesaggi culturali tradizionali svizzeri rimasti intatti.
I parchi svizzeri mantengono una rete che serve all’interscambio di esperienze e a sostenere i lavori d’interesse pubblico. All eight park projects that were submitted in January 2009 will be reviewed on location in the month of June by the federal government. At the end of the summer the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN will decide which project will be recognised as candidate for a park of national importance. The Parco nazionale Locarnese-Vallemaggia project is the first time that there is an applicant for a national park. Last year nine projects received the label “candidate”
